HGV loading train – Eurotunnel

These vehicles are suitable for transporting HGVs and semitrailers through the EUROTUNNEL between France and the UK. The different types of wagon are arranged to create train formations, each comprising 35 wagons. The ends of the trains are provided with a terminating loading wagon and a centre loading wagon positioned in the middle of the train; arranged in-between are two groups of transport wagons each comprising 16 units. Loading and unloading of the train proceeds from a lateral ramp via two loading/unloading wagons in each case. Each transport wagon is loaded with one HGV or semitrailer.
